Why the search exists
"Putlocker alternatives" is one of the most typed phrases next to the name, and it has been for years. The reason is simple: the name spread across dozens of copies, each on a different domain, and copies stop working. When the one someone bookmarked disappears, they search for a replacement. This page is for those people, and the shortest answer is that you are already on the site the copies were copying.
Everything the name stands for is here. The search form with title, director, starring, years and genres. New movies and featured titles. The years and the A-Z list. TV shows with every season and every dated episode. My List for the films you are saving for the weekend. And on every title page, a Watch now button that opens the title on the services carrying it in your country, in HD.
What "sites like Putlocker" actually means
When people compare Putlocker alternatives on forums, they are comparing four things: how big the catalogue is, how fast search finds a title, whether TV shows are organised by season and episode, and whether the site works on a phone. Those are the four things this site is built around. The catalogue runs from the classics of the nineties and 2000s through the long-running series of the 2010s to what opened this year. Search is instant and forgiving. Every series has its seasons laid out with air dates. And the phone version is the same site with the menu behind the ≡ button, with the app a two-tap install.
The lists you will find elsewhere
The alternatives lists that rank on Google recycle the same dozen names, most of which are copies of one another or have already moved address again. If you are reading one of those lists because a Putlocker copy went down, the sensible move is to bookmark the official Putlocker address instead of the next copy, and to install the site to your home screen so the address is never a question again.
If you want a second site for a particular reason, choose it for that reason: a service you already pay for is the right place for a title you will watch three times, and the Watch now button lists exactly those services for every title here, with the price where there is one. That is a more useful alternative than another streaming clone, because it is where the film actually plays in full HD, with subtitles and downloads in the service's own app.
Putlocker alternatives for TV shows
The alternative people ask about most is one for TV shows, because a movie site that handles series badly is exhausting after two seasons. Open any series here, Game of Thrones for instance, and you get eight season pages, each with its episodes in order and their air dates, a Reached this episode button on every row, and a Where to watch button that opens the show in your country. Press Reached this episode and My List keeps your place. That is the whole reason to prefer this to a copy.
Putlocker alternatives on Reddit
The Reddit threads asking for alternatives are covered on the Reddit page. The short version: the threads are useful for one thing, which is the name people currently mean when they say Putlocker, and that name is this site.
