One name, many suffixes

putlocker.com was the original file host, from 2011 until it became Firedrive in 2014. It was a place to upload and share files, and the name became famous because so many of those files were films. The history page tells that story.

A Putlocker mirror is a copy of the site on a second address, and a Putlocker proxy is an address that passes your visit through to the site. Both exist because copies of the name were blocked in some countries. The real site has the film reel and the PUT LOCKER wordmark with the padlock in the O, the green menu bar under a white header, and a search form with director, starring, years and genre boxes. Every title has a page with a synopsis, the cast, seasons for series, and a Watch now button that lists services by country. There is no registration, no download button pointing at an .exe, and no pop-up asking for a card number. A page that asks for any of those is not this site.
